We want both parents and students to feel confident, supported, and connected throughout their time at Futures Academy.
This hub is designed to bring together the key information you need — from timetables and kit lists, to safeguarding contacts and FAQs.
Term Dates & Schedule
Academic Year Structure: Futures Academy follows a three-term calendar (Autumn, Spring, Summer).
Daily Timetable (example):
- 8:45am – Registration & Mentoring Check-In
- 9:30am – Education Session (English/Maths/Functional Skills)
- 11:00am – Break
- 11:15am – Education/Qualifications (BTEC, NCFE, ASDAN)
- 1:00pm – Lunch (supervised, 45 minutes)
- 1:45pm – Football Academy Training or Apprenticeship Work Placement
- 4:00pm – End of Day

Uniform & Kit
- Education: Smart-casual attire (no hats/hoods in class)
- Football Academy: Futures Academy kit (ordered at induction)
- Apprenticeships: Branded t-shirts/jackets provided for coaching and media roles
Students are expected to maintain professional standards of dress and presentation across all settings.
Travel Information
- Futures Academy operates across Leytonstone, Olympic Park, and UEL.
- All sites are accessible via London Underground, Overground, and bus routes.
- Travel bursaries may be available via local authority support — families should check eligibility during induction.

Attendance & Behaviour Expectations
- Attendance: 95%+ expected — attendance is reported weekly to parents and commissioners.
- Behaviour: Respect, responsibility, and professionalism are non-negotiable.
- Code of Conduct: Applies across education, football, and apprenticeships.
- Support: If challenges arise, pastoral staff and mentors intervene early to keep students on track.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: What qualifications can my child gain?
A: GCSE English & Maths resits, Functional Skills, BTEC Sport, NCFE Employability, and ASDAN short courses.
Q: Does my child need football ability to join?
A: No. While the Football Academy is a key pathway, education and apprenticeships are equally important. Commitment to all strands is required.
Q: Will my child be paid for apprenticeship work?
A: Yes. Students are paid £8 per hour for supervised Sports Coaching or Media work.
Q: How do you keep students safe online?
A: All online sessions are monitored, filtered, and recorded. Staff use academy accounts only, never personal devices.
Q: What happens if my child is absent?
A: Parents/carers must report absences by 9:00am. Unexplained absences are escalated to the DSL within 24 hours.

Parent Communication
We believe in partnership with families. Parents/carers receive:
- Weekly attendance and progress updates
- Immediate safeguarding or behaviour notifications
- Termly reports on academic, football, and apprenticeship progress
- Invitations to parent review meetings and showcase events
