Futures Academy is unique — we don’t just teach qualifications; we create paid work opportunities for our students.
Our in-house apprenticeships allow learners to earn money, gain professional experience, and build career-ready skills while completing their education and football training.
These pathways are fully supervised, safeguarding-led, and designed around real industry demand.

Sports Coaching Pathway
Step Into Coaching
Students gain hands-on experience across our schools, community programmes, and football academies.
Key skills developed:
- Session planning and delivery
- Classroom and pitch management
- Behaviour management strategies
- Inclusion and SEN awareness
- Communication and leadership
Opportunities include:
- Assisting qualified coaches in PE lessons and after-school clubs
- Leading small-group activities under supervision
- Supporting Saturday centres, tournaments, and holiday camps
Progression Routes:
- Level 3/4 Sports Coaching Apprenticeships (with partner providers)
- Employment as coaching assistants or sports leaders

Media Production Pathway
Create. Capture. Share.
Our Media Apprenticeship prepares students for the growing world of digital sports media.
Key skills developed:
- Videography and live match filming
- Photography and editing
- Social media content creation
- Storytelling and sports journalism basics
- Digital portfolio building
Opportunities include:
- Filming matches for highlight reels and analysis
- Producing content for the Futures Academy and Level X Sports Agency
- Working on live projects including tournaments, showcases, and marketing campaigns
Progression Routes:
- Level 3/4 Media/Creative Apprenticeships
- Entry-level roles in sports media, marketing, and digital production

Earn While You Learn
- Apprenticeships are paid at £8 per hour
- Hours fit around education and football schedules
- Students receive structured mentoring and supervision throughout
- Experience is logged, evidenced, and referenced for progression applications

Safeguarding & Support
Our apprenticeships are run with the same robust safeguarding framework as our education and football pathways.

- All work placements are supervised by DBS-checked staff
- Risk assessments conducted for schools, venues, and events
- Clear health & safety procedures and insurance coverage in place
